About Sarah
Sarah I. Serluco, LCSW
I am a caring and compassionate therapist, counseling teen girls struggling with anxiety and depression, relationship issues, academic performance, sport performance, self-harm, suicidal ideations and trauma. Having raised girls, I understand working through these issues can be difficult as a parent and having a good therapist can be valuable.
I am also inspired to provide therapy for women experiencing changes in life due to a relationship, infertility, grief, divorce and empty nesting. I truly enjoy being a support to you while also providing concrete tips and knowledge around how to work through these challenges.
My life experiences are what make me unique as a therapist. I'm a single mother of twin girls and began this work as a second career, bringing with me a depth of understanding that only comes from navigating real-world challenges.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent two decades working as a television producer in New York City. I started my career at MTV and eventually led my own production company, creating content that told important stories. My most notable accomplishment was co-producing a feature length documentary, Just Melvin, Just Evil, which won numerous awards in 2000, including recognition at the Sundance Film Festival as a nominee for the Grand Jury Prize, Newport Beach Film Festival winner of the Jury Award for Best Documentary, Santa Barbara International Film Festival winner of the Insight Award, Vancouver Film Festival winner of Best Documentary Feature, South Beach Film Festival winner of Best Documentary and 2001 Independent Spirit Awards winner of the Truer Than Fiction award. The film aired on HBO.
That experience, of documenting real human stories, of witnessing resilience and healing, ultimately led me to this work. Now, instead of telling others' stories, I sit with people as they tell their own.
My rate is $250 for an initial 65-minute session and after $200 per 50-minute session. I can provide a superbill for your out-of-network reimbursement.
